Do Dalmatians need a coat in the winter? Well like any short-haired dog, the need for extra warmth is always needed as the temperature drops.

Be sure to add a sweater or jacket for winter activities outside including walks, strolls, and hikes.

The longer skinny dogs can have a hard time finding the perfect fit in winter coats, but Red Bark Shop offers sweaters that fit Dalmatians perfectly. Originally sized for Vizslas, they fit the similarly shaped Dalmatians and stretch with movement and bounding leaps over snow. 

Welcome to the best shop for Vizsla owners and fans! I started Red Bark Shop 1.5 years ago after I started Vizsla calendar sales to raise money for charities. After a couple years I added stickers, then went all in with hats, sweaters, and jewelry.

The designs are my own, based on my drawings and paintings over the years inspired by our adventures (and misadventures). Photographs are also on sale as well as loads of Vizsla themed hats, shirts, stickers, and more.

I finally got in Canadian hand-made silver and gold jewelry just in time for the holidays! There's also an economical wood earring option for stocking stuffers or birthday presents. 

There are the classic pointer silhouette necklaces and earrings that match (the earrings are smaller than the pendant). Because a longer tail would break, we tried our best to mimic a pointer's longer tail but in this way the silhouette works for many pointing breeds including Vizsla, Weimaraner, English Pointer and GSPs. I'm SOOO happy I found the most wonderful jeweler in Quebec to help me make these!

These earrings are oxidized in a process that gives a very modern look in silver only.

You will not find a more classic, more high quality sweater than the hand-knit Bravehound sweater. They're hand cable knitted and made to suit skinnier longer dogs that have such a hard time finding something that fits well. Mass-produced machine knitted canine sweaters take the "average" dog body, shorter and wider than the slim Pointer (Hungarian, German, English, or any pointer) and look baggy and ill-suited.

The Bravehound sweater will actually hug to your dog's body and the classic cable-knit will stretch to suit many sizes (check out the sizing guide!). The neck is the longest I've seen produced and include a hole for a leash attachment. We've kept our sweater for 6 years now and it looks as good as new! They're even machine-washable!

Cheap acrylic yarns are made from petroleum-based thermoplastic, are not fire-resistant (as yarn is), is not sustainable, and is not as warm as wool. They're fine for a cute winter photo, but will not actually keep your skinny dog warm through years.

What kind of dogs are Bird Dogs? Those that were originally bred to hunt birds. There are still many excellent bird dog hunters used today for their original purpose. These gun dogs work with hunters typically using shotguns for small game) and are generally listed under these categories.

Welcome to the Vizsla Gift shop! Here we have everything Vizsla and I'm already planning on some Wirehaired Vizsla products in the future. I also have other bird dog breeds but at the Red Bark Shop, the Red Dogs are the focus.

These knitted vests for stylish canines invoke upland country vibes in both the new and old country. Whiskey has been wearing her Gilet for over years now and it's a better sweater for running, exercise, and movement that may scratch up a softer sweater. These are also wonderful for layering underneath a warmer jacket as they stay very close to the body.

I chose my favorite green coloring (Pine) and a deep blue (Blueberry). The sleeker  lower membrane can hold up to more dirt and playing than other sweaters but still cover the chest and keep the dog warm. The collar has a hole for the leash and the zipper down the back can be tucked into a flap. 

These are made to measure with my own Vizsla-based sizing where size small is a smaller 40-48lbs Vizsla, M/L fitting GSPs, English Pointers, and XL fiting larger pointer breeds like Weimaraners. All the sizing details are here.

Fun technical running caps have always been far and few between, especially those for women, especially those featuring dogs! The Running with dogs hat was my best-seller when I released the grey/black version last fall so I was extremely excited to be able to add new styles and colors.

I had someone write to me explaining my previous grey/black hat had an error where the dog was behind the runner and that in most worlds, the dog would be in front! While it is true that Whiskey is normally heeling behind me on runs, Bourbon is usually way way ahead and sprinting in circles! The blue hat is now reflective of Bourbon's tendencies and you can now chose between runner in front or behind the pup.

In addition, I've added a turquoise running hat featuring a painting I made of Bourbon sprinting on a beach. It's done with a Chinese Brush style and the red circle is my Chinese signature stamp. I love this color so much and it's my favorite running hat!

All caps feature NO Velcro to catch your hair on, instead there's an adjustable strap and clip. The technical run hat is very lightweight, crushable, quick drying, and has a combination of ventilation, wicking and sun protection that works well in all climates (I use them when it's raining to keep the water off).
